RISC delivers training course in Ghana
RISC Advisory recently delivered a comprehensive five‑day oil and gas training programme on Reserves, PRMS and Auditing for the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) in Accra. The course was designed for geoscientists, reservoir engineers and senior managers and focused on strengthening the organisation’s reserves governance and audit processes.
Participant feedback from GNPC was extremely positive.
“Excellent, well structured, and highly engaging. The positive feedback from our team is very encouraging and clearly reflects the quality, relevance, and thoughtful tailoring of the training.”
— GNPC Technical Manager
Supporting stronger reserves governance
This training is designed to support government‑owned organisations and national oil companies develop their internal capability in managing reserves and resources in line with the Petroleum Resources Management System (PRMS).
Adopting PRMS‑aligned estimation and robust reserves auditing processes enables organisations to:
- Demonstrate reserves estimates are credible
- Clearly understand risk and uncertainty
- Build greater confidence for investors, lenders and potential operating partners
- Develop stronger foundations for farm‑ins, financing, and regulatory compliance
These capabilities are particularly valuable for countries with emerging or maturing upstream industries, where transparent reserves governance plays a crucial role in attracting long‑term investment.
Training delivery team
The course was delivered by Gavin Ward and Adam Borushek from RISC Advisory’s London office, who brought extensive global experience in reserves evaluation, assurance and advisory. Their practical insights, case studies and interactive sessions were highly valued by participants throughout the week.
Supporting capability development
RISC Advisory looks forward to providing similar oil and gas training programmes for national oil companies, regulators and E&P companies seeking to strengthen their reserves and resources governance frameworks.
