Meet our latest team member – Ian Cockerill

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Cockerill as our new Head of Geoscience Principal Advisor, based in the Perth office. Ian will be taking over the reigns from David Cliff, who will be retiring at the end of June 2017.

Ian has 17 years of experience as a geoscientist with a successful record of value creation through oil and gas discoveries, new venture development, and asset / corporate promotion. He has a background in geological and geophysical interpretation with experience in conventional and unconventional exploration and development projects in a wide range of geological settings. Ian has worked in technical positions for Hunt Oil and Apache and in executive positions for Transerv Energy, Verona Energy and TSV Montney.
As Managing Director of TSV Montney, Ian worked up an exploration portfolio of 60,000 acres in the Montney unconventional liquids play, British Columbia, Canada. Recently Ian was Executive Director of Transerv Energy (ASX listed) and, concurrently, worked as Managing Director of Verona Energy (Pty) identifying global new venture opportunities for a venture capitalist group and providing technical consulting services to numerous ASX publicly listed and private companies. Ian has worked on assignments in the UK, South Africa, Canada, United States, Singapore, and Australia.

David has worked on many successful projects with RISC and has been an invaluable part of our team. We’d like to thank him for his time with us and wish him every bit of success as he continues his next adventure into retirement.
