Gavin Ward

Gavin joined RISC with an economic, accounting and technical skill set from 35 years in the oil and gas industry at major operators and independents.

He has peer reviewed and valued assets and companies in Europe, Middle East, Far East, Africa and North America. Gavin is author of many papers on risk and volume estimation and is able to translate technical evaluations into meaningful economic and financial assessments. A sedimentologist and then geophysicist by background, but also well versed in reservoir engineering, risk analysis, economics and accounting from experience as Corporate Business Advisor, and Europe & Mediterranean Portfolio Manager at Noble Energy and then Reserves & Economics Manager, Regional Subsurface Manager, and Non-Operated Producing Assets Manager at Centrica Energy.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Fellow of the Geological Society of London (FGS), holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, and was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the Petroleum Exploration/Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (PESGB/GESGB).

Gavin is a past Finance Director of PESGB Conferences and is currently Chair of the Audit Committee for the Geological Society of London.
