We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Gavin Ward as General Manager for the UK office.
Gavin is a specialist Geophysicist (and a Chartered Accountant with Mechanical Engineering and Programme Management qualifications). He spent the first 10 years of his career with Corex, Phillips Petroleum and PGS as a sedimentologist then processing geophysicist, followed by 10 years with Noble Energy as a seismic interpreter, economist, business adviser and portfolio manager. Gavin’s last five years have been with the UK diversified energy company, Centrica, as Reserves and Economics Manager, Regional Subsurface Manager and latterly as Manager Non-Operated Producing Assets. Gavin has a great passion for geoscience and the oil and gas industry. He is author of many papers on volume estimation and risk analysis and has presented at many global conferences. He has extensive industry knowledge and international experience, and brings a unique combination of technical excellence and commercial common sense to the RISC team.
In addition to his day-to-day work, Gavin supports local schools talking about petroleum geology at careers fairs and was the Treasurer and Council member of Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain (PESGB). When not working, Gavin is a keen long distance road and cross country runner, and road cyclist.
Gavin joins our London office at an extremely exciting time, with an excellent platform established by Geoff Salter from which to continue to grow our UK business. A warm RISC welcome to Gavin, his wife and two sons.
