RISC uses its extensive, multi-project, worldwide experience to help identify the key uncertainties and critical success factors to project development. We understand that the industry has a poor track record of project delivery, and recognise common pitfalls in project execution including:

• Poor use of probabilistic methodologies and analysis
• Lack of integration of cost and schedule estimates
• Poor use of allowances and contingencies

Project teams often carry inherent biases and/or are overconfident in their ability to understand and manage complex projects. In the last decade we have built up a record of providing independent forecasts that are more reliable and informed than the project proponents’ and operator’s own forecasts.
