SPEE welcomes RISC Partners as new members

RISC Partners Simon Whitaker and Peter Stephenson have just been accepted into the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE) as the newest members in the Asia Pacific Chapter. A big congratulations to them both for this highly prestigious appointment!

Petroleum Evaluation Engineering is a specialized field, and the Society is dedicated to the promotion of professional growth of the membership and to the advancement of the profession of Petroleum Evaluation Engineering by demonstrating by example the highest standard of ethics, by promoting continuing education of our membership and by education of the public in the area of oil and gas reserve definitions, reserve evaluations, and fair market value.

Collectively, Simon and Peter have over 70 years experience in the petroleum industry working on projects around the world.

Simon has a background in petroleum engineering including reservoir and production engineering, well evaluation and varied operational experience in the UK, Egypt, South East Asia and Australia. Subsequent career development has involved an MBA, asset management, field development planning and implementation and commercial roles. Simon currently leads the Development Engineering function in RISC. This involves taking responsibility for Drilling & Completions, Facilities, Project performance, Operations and HSE aspects of RISC assignments.

Peter is a Reservoir Engineer with significant experience in the upstream hydrocarbon industry with BP, Shell and RISC. He has extensive experience with mature and greenfield oil, gas, gas-condensate and CSG developments in the North Sea, Africa, Middle East and Australasia. Peter holds global experience in project gate reviews, data room and investment evaluation. Peter specialises in reservoir evaluation, field development planning, integrated project reviews and multidisciplinary team coordination and leadership. He currently leads to Reservoir Engineering function at RISC.
