Exploration and Appraisal – Geoscience
The exploration evaluation experience of RISC is world class, with a global team in both conventional and unconventional assets. Our experience in this area includes basin evaluation, prospect generation and exploration portfolio management. We carry out reviews of farm-out opportunities, Independent Technical Specialist Reports and provide peer support and on-the-job education.
RISC also provides practical advice on the management and execution of exploration programs and can provide support for seismic data during design, tendering, acquisition, processing and, ultimately, the interpretation stages of a seismic program.
The team has a wealth of up-to-date experience in sequence stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy, structural analysis, burial history modelling, petroleum systems analysis and risked play fairway analysis in both frontier and mature basins. RISC has completed reviews for onshore and offshore projects in most areas of the world for major, mid-tier and smaller players.
Adam Craig
Adam is RISC’s head of Geoscience. He has over 30 years of experience in the upstream energy sector and has extensive experience in geological and geophysical interpretation across exploration, development and production. Adam has a strong track record of building and leading high functioning subsurface and multidisciplinary teams.
Gavin Ward
Gavin is a geophysicist by background and has a wealth of experience from over 30 years in the energy industry. He has a diverse set of skills that includes geology, reservoir engineering, risk analysis, economics and accounting. Gavin is author of many papers on risk and volume estimation and is able to translate technical evaluations into meaningful economic and financial assessments.
