NEW FACES – Steve Major joins the RISC team

We are pleased to welcome Steve Major to the RISC team.  Steve has over 30 years worldwide experience in the oil and gas industry in UK, Middle East, Asia and the Former Soviet Union and brings with him extensive technical and management experience in petroleum engineering, field production, field operations, technical and economic evaluation and optimisation, new venture evaluations and reserves evaluations.  Steve joins our Perth office, having spent that last seven years in Dubai in the Middle East as a Principal Petroleum Engineer and Project Director for Senergy Ltd.  Prior to Senergy, Steve worked for Mubadala in Abu Dhabi, and Dragon Oil in Dubai.

A diehard rugby player, Steve was the founder and inspiration behind the TSB Legends Charity Rugby Team that was set up to raise money for a fellow rugby player who suffered a neck injury in 2011 and was initially paralysed from the neck down.  The TSB Legends team debuted in the Dubai Sevens International Veterans Competition in 2011 and competed against several teams stacked with ex-international players in 2012.  Having incurred a couple of broken ribs and a cracked collar bone in the 2012 competition playing against notable ex-International players such as Jason Robinson, Colin Charvis and David Campese, Steve decided to hang up his boots on a career high.  However, having learnt that there is an active veterans rugby scene in Perth playing to veterans rules, Steve may yet grace the rugby pitches again!  A warm Perth welcome to Steve and his wife Susan.
